Terms of service

Last updated 22 October 2026. These terms apply when you buy from econcoaching.com. They do not affect your statutory rights.

1. Who we are

Econ Coaching is run by Luke Masom, a sole trader trading as Econ Coaching. Contact: contact@econcoaching.com. Payments are taken by WooPayments (Stripe) or PayPal for shop orders, and by Stripe for admissions packs; your card statement shows Econ Coaching.

2. What we sell

  • Personal statement reviews and add-ons (Proofread, Edit, Premium; the Redraft Review, Video Walkthrough and Rush Delivery add-ons): a written review of a draft you send us.
  • Mock interviews: live one-to-one online sessions, sold as packages of hours.
  • Admissions packs and passes (the Interview Pack, the Applicant Pass with AI Interviewer, the TMUA Pack, the TARA Pack, the Essay Competition Pack and the Year 12 Early Starter): online preparation used on admissions.econcoaching.com.
  • Digital downloads (for example the Guide to Personal Statements) and prints and other goods sold through our shop.

Prices are shown before you pay and are the total price. Packs, reviews and mock interviews are one-off payments; nothing renews.

3. Who can buy

You must be 18 or over to buy. If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian should make the purchase. The student may then use the service or pack.

4. Personal statement reviews

  • Send your draft through the order form or by email. The delivery time shown on the product (72 hours as standard, or 24–48 hours with Rush Delivery) runs from when we receive your draft, not from payment.
  • Every edit is made or checked by a Cambridge Economics graduate. The statement remains the student’s own work, and the student is responsible for what is submitted to UCAS or a university. Follow your school’s and the university’s rules on help with personal statements.
  • A Redraft Review covers one further version of the same statement, sent within 60 days of the original review.
  • We keep drafts confidential, and delete them on request (see the privacy policy).

5. Mock interviews

  • After you buy, we email you to agree session times. You can also agree times before you buy.
  • Sessions run online. You need a working camera, microphone and internet connection.
  • Rescheduling: you can move a session for no charge if you tell us at least 24 hours before it starts.
  • Missed sessions: a session missed without that notice counts as used. If we have to cancel or cannot run a session, we will rearrange it or refund that part of your package.
  • Unused hours: hours in a package can be used until 12 months from purchase. Unused hours are not refunded automatically: if you ask us within that time, we refund them pro rata to the package price.

6. Admissions packs and passes

  • A pack opens as soon as payment goes through, on the email address used at checkout. You sign in with a link sent to that address.
  • Access runs until the end date shown before you pay and in your order confirmation. AI mock interviews are limited to the number per pass and per day shown before you buy.
  • Packs are for the personal use of the student named on the account. Do not share the account, or copy or republish the content.
  • The AI Interviewer is practice software. Its feedback is automated and may be imperfect.

7. Your right to cancel

See Cancellations and refunds, which forms part of these terms.

8. No guarantee of an offer

We provide practice, feedback and preparation. Admissions decisions are made by universities, and we cannot guarantee an interview, a test score or an offer.

9. Faulty or not as described

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected. Services must be provided with reasonable care and skill, and digital content and goods must be as described and fit for purpose. If something is wrong, email us and we will put it right: we will repeat or repair the service, or repair or replace the content or goods, or give a full or partial refund, as the Act requires.

10. Liability

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes and availability

We may update or correct pack content. If we permanently remove paid content before your access ends, we will refund you for it. We do not guarantee the websites will always be available.

12. Complaints

Email contact@econcoaching.com. We reply within 5 working days.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country where you live.

14. Changes to these terms

The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones published when you made it.
