For university students and graduates (18 or over) applying to the Government Economic Service (Fast Stream, Assistant Economist scheme or a placement), to economic consultancies or to Big 4 economics teams.
By the end, you will be able to…
- Answer short-answer economics questions under time pressure: ten questions in 30 minutes across micro, macro, econometrics and data, and trade. Three timed papers with AI marking and an 80-question bank.
- Write a clear technical report in 30 minutes on a topic given a week ahead. Six briefs with model reports and a three-criterion rubric, with AI marking.
- Give a 10-minute presentation to non-economists and handle the panel’s questions, practised with the AI panel.
- Work through an economic-consultancy case: market definition, mergers, damages, regulated returns and econometric identification. Twelve cases and an AI case interviewer.
- Give strong strengths and motivation answers for the GES or a consultancy.
