University and careers: from first year to first job

At university the next competition starts early: insight weeks in first year, summer placements in the penultimate year, then graduate schemes and master’s applications. Each is decided in two places: the written application and the assessment. We prepare economics students for both.

  • Designed by a first-class Cambridge economist
  • Built on the published GES assessment format
  • For students and graduates aged 18 or over

Two applications, one service for each

The written application gets you to the assessment; the assessment gets you the offer.

Questions

Is this only for economics students?

Mostly. GES economist roles ask for a first or 2:1 in economics, or a postgraduate economics degree, and economic consultancies hire mainly from economics. Statement reviews cover economics, finance and business master’s programmes.

How does the AI marking work?

It gives marks and comments against a marking rubric. It never rewrites your answers.

Who can buy?

University students and graduates aged 18 or over. The Economist Interview Pack is one payment, and nothing renews.

Which should we start with?

The one with the nearest deadline. If you have an assessment centre booked, start with the Economist Interview Pack. If you are applying for a master’s, the statement comes first.

Can you guarantee an offer?

No one honestly can. We help you prepare as well as you can; the decision is the employer’s or the university’s.
